Krizan earns Regional championship for Wolfpack

It was Cornell’s turn to host a WIAA Division 3 Regional wrestling match Jan. 30, as the Cornell-Lake Holcombe-Gilman Wolfpack took on Bruce, Ladysmith, Phillips, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser-Prairie Farm and Chequamegon.
In the quarterfinals, junior Julian Krizan (170 pounds), sophomore Braeden Person (138) and freshman Troy Duellman (132) all received byes.
Moving to the semifinals, Krizan faced off against Thor Sather, Chetek, winning by fall, in 2:32. Duellman also won his match over Bruce’s Harold Garcia, by fall, in 2:51. Person couldn’t bring in his match, however, falling to Chetek’s Kyle Jarmusic in a 10-4 decision.
