Cadott improves their dual record to 10-1

Taking part in duals at a St. Croix meet, the Cadott wrestlers came away with a number of wins under their belts Jan. 14.

scored many valuable team points,” said coach Josh Spaeth.

Taking a 52-27 win over St. Croix Central, the Hornets saw many wrestlers earn the victory in their weight class. Winning in that dual, were Lukas Simenson (106), freshman Ashton Bremness (120), sophomore Nick Fasbender (132), junior Kaleb Sonnentag (138) and sophomore Tristan Drier (145).

Also bringing in wins, were sophomore Cole Pfeiffer (150), senior Nelson Wahl (160) and junior Gavin Tegels (220).

Cadott also took out Stanley-Boyd-Owen-Withee, in a 52-18 victory. Getting the wins in that dual, were junior Logan Harel (120), freshman Brayden Sonnentag (126), Fasbender, Drier, Pfeiffer and Wahl. Earning some big forfeits, were freshmen Wyatt Engel (170) and Axel Tegels (182), sophomore Dawson Webster (195) and G. Tegels.

“The team beat some high-quality teams last night,” said Spaeth.

The Hornets also won over Baldwin-Woodville, 41-30. Taking wins in that match-up, were Sonnentag, Drier, Pfeiffer, Wahl, Engel, Webster and G. Tegels.

With the wins, Cadott moves to 10-1 on the season in dual meet competition.

“We learned that we still have some work to do before the Regional, which is two weeks away,” said Spaeth.
