Cornell can’t overcome heavy Gilmanton scoring
By Ginna Young
Playing host to Gilmanton, the Cornell boys basketball team ushered in the new year Dec. 29, as well as a snowstorm. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the visiting team was hot on offense and Cornell went into halftime, down by 14 points.
“We started the game out slow and then picked it up gradually throughout the game,” said coach Marcus Leland.
The Chiefs fared better in the second half, scoring wise, but couldn’t hold Gilmanton back from completing shots. Cornell saw the non-conference game go to the visitors, 68-39.
