Greenwood had almost everything go its way right from the start of its Nov. 6 home football game against Alma Center Lincoln.The Indians were already up by 20 points after the end of the first quarter on their way to a 60-12 win.

The win pushed Greenwood’s record to 5-2 in its inaugural 8-man season. That mark lands the program in the 8-man playoffs and a date at Three Lakes on Nov. 13. The winner of that one will take on either Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah or Wabeno/Laona the following week in the final game of the 2-game playoff format.

Cooper Bredlau had first-quarter touchdown runs of 11 yards and 52 yards and Xander Hinker found the end zone from 16 yards out to stake Greenwood to a quick 20-0 lead over Lincoln. The Indians added four more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter with Sully Whitford getting three of them and Bredlau adding a 79-yard scoring run. Lincoln scored on a late second-quarter pass play for a 48-6 score at the half. Greenwood added a 1-yard Ryver Glynn touchdown in the third quarter and a another scoring run from Kody Johnson in the fourth. Bredlau ran almost untouched through the Lincoln defense, for 234 yards on only seven carries. Hinker picked up 114 yards on eight carries and Whitford had 100 yards on 10 attempts. Christian Thomas added 70 yards on six rushes. Bredlau threw three passes with two completions for 27 yards. Whitford added an option pass throw for a 47-yard gain.

Greenwood had 613 total yards of offense in the game and limited Lincoln to 197.
