Area students earn placement on college academic distinction lists

Carthage College

Carthage College has named Jaden Gardner from Granton to its dean’s list for academic excellence during the fall 2020 semester. Dean’s list honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 gradepoint average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.

Concordia University

Concordia University Wisconsin officials have released the Fall Honors List for the 2020-21 academic year. To be eligible for the honor, students must achieve a minimum 3.60 GPA.

Among the area students named to the list was Alex Lang, of Spencer, a Health Care Management-AE major.

Harding University

Collin Nieman, a junior finance major from Spencer is among more than 1,200 Harding University students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the fall 2020 semester.

The dean’s list is published each semester by Dr. Marty Spears, University provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

Harding University is a private Christian, liberal arts university located in Searcy, Ark.

Marquette University

The following students have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

To make the Dean’s List, students must have earned at least 12 credits for the fall 2020 semester and have no disqualifying grades. The GPA threshold varies by college - for the College of Education and the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduate students must have at least a 3.7 to be named to the Dean’s List. The undergraduate GPA requirement is 3.5 for the following colleges: the Diederich College of Communication, the College of Business Administration, the College of Health Sciences, the Opus College of Engineering and the College of Nursing. All other programs have a 3.75 GPA minimum.

Area students named to the list were Joseph Anason of Neillsville, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in accounting, and Callie Schmidt of Neillsville, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in physics.

Northcentral Technical College

Northcentral Technical College (NTC) has announced the President’s List for outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2020 term. The following students enrolled in a post-secondary program, earned a 3.75 grade point average or above and successfully completed a minimum of six credits during the fall term.

Of the degrees awarded, 1,414 were received by students attending the Eau Claire campus and 19 were received by students attending UW-Eau Claire - Barron County.

Among 3,861 students, a total of 1,130 students qualifi ed for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 2,731 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List.

To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for the semester.

Honorees included Emily Susa of Greenwood, who made the Honor List.
