The ongoing Books for Teachers project has received another anonymous donation. It now has $150 to add to your donation toward affording the most requested title remaining. If your donation is enough to purchase all the requested copies of a title when combined with the $150, you may designate the title of your choice.

Though price can vary greatly, paperbacks average about $10 each and hardcovers average about $20 each. You can notify the District Curriculum Director of the title of your choice so that the business office can search for the best price, as some book sellers only offer bulk purchases at a discount to institutions or organizations. Or if you are lucky and prefer, you may be able to go it all alone.

You may also add your donation of any amount by earmarking any check or money order as “For Book Fund” and pay to the order of the Medford School District. The address is 124 W State St., Medford, Wi. 54451. If you want to remain anonymous, note that on your donation. The phone number is (715) 748-4620. Ask for the curriculum director, Elizabeth Rachu, and don’t forget to request anonymity if desired.

You may want to research online the eight titles below of the original 20 remaining to be donated. The number requested follows the title. Finding Wild by Wagner Lloyd, M. (17) Gwen the Rescue Hen by Crawford, L. (15) Being Kind to Animals by Lindeen, M. (13) Chickpea Runs Away by Colling, S. (13) Rescuer of Tiny Creatures by Manley, C. (13) Happy Animals: Friends Not Food by Raphael, L. and Saks, G. (11) Sprig the Rescue Pig by Crawford, L. (11) Plant-powered Animal Protectors by O’ Halloran, Y. (9) I’m sure the teachers who requested a book of your preferred title would be thrilled to find it waiting for them when they return this Fall!
