1938-2023 Delbert C. Gustafson, 84, of Ogema, was called to his heavenly home on Jan. 13, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the Ogema Baptist Church, W5091 Hwy 86, Ogema, WI 54459, with Pastor Rodney Price officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church. Delbert was born on Jan. 21, 1938, to Eddie and Alice (Erickson) Gustafson, in Ogema. He went to school through his sophomore year and then helped work on the family farm and worked with his dad and brother Leroy in the woods. On his 17th birthday he joined the National Guards. Delbert married Debra Maki on Nov. 9, 1979. Delbert worked driving milk truck hauling milk cans, driving pulp truck for Kenny Pearson, logging, with his brothers and carpentry. He also worked at Larson’s Sawmill for many years. Going back to carpentry and ending his career building a house in Spirit with the help of his brother, John, and son, Dan. Delbert enjoyed riding motorcycle, racing, trips to Canada fishing, camping with friends and family, taking nieces and nephews on family trips to the Dells and local fairs, spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and watching the birds, and the one thing he enjoyed doing the most - being a loving and caring husband to Debbie. He is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Dan (Katie) of Prentice, and Dawn (Wayne) Korenuk of Medford; grandchildren, Stacey, Alexandra, Zoe; sister, Kathleen (Mel) of Cudahy; brother, John (Deanny) of Ogema; and other loved family members and friends. 1928-2023 Ellen “LaNae” Werner, 94 of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023 at Country Gardens, under the care of Hope Hospice. A funeral service for LaNae will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at Community United Church of Christ, with Pastor Teri Hanson officiating. She graduated from Dorchester High School. LaNae continued her education at Taylor County Normal School. She married William Werner Sr. on Feb. 28, 1948 at the family farm in Dorchester; he preceded her in death. LaNae was a homemaker for eight children. She was a skilled gardener and quilter. She was a member of the Medford School Board 1971-1983. She was also active in the PTA, cub scouts and boy scouts, and the CUCC Women’s Guild and Candlelight Circle. 1966-2022 Lottie A. Stokosa, age 56, of Medford, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 at her daughter’s home in New Auburn. Per Lottie’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at the Eau Claire VFW, 1300 Starr Avenue, Eau Claire, WI, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lottie Ann Stokosa was born on June 30, 1966 in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Eugene and Lillie (Reed) Stokosa. In 1971, her family moved to Thorp, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Thorp High School in 1984. After graduation, Lottie lived in Greenwood for 16 years where she was very active in organizing and volunteering at many community events including St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lottie was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader for over 30 years. She lived in California for a short time before returning to Wisconsin where she worked as a bartender and cook at various employers and cities throughout the years. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and being outdoors. Her main passion was people, especially children. She loved doing projects with the grandkids and enjoy teaching them about everything in life. She would do anything for someone, her heart was one of a kind. 1962-2022 Kathleen Mary Neuman Schupp age 60 of Stetsonville passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire. There will be no services as this was Kathleen’s request. 1931-2023 Andrew J. Brost, 91, of Medford, passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Aspirus Medford Hospital. Andy was born on July 19, 1931 to Anton S. and Emma C. Brost. He graduated from Medford High School in 1949. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1949–1952 during the Korean Conflict. Andy participated in Wonsan-Hungnam-Chosin campaign; and participated in operations against enemy forces in south and central Korea. Following his proud service, he worked at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee before returning to Medford to work as a custodian at Medford Senior High School until his retirement. He married his wife of 66 years, Lois, on May 5, 1956 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. They had a family of eight children, three daughters and five sons. Andy was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren to which he loved dearly. This was something he held close to his heart. 1926-2023 Rose M. Burzynski, 96 of Gilman, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023 at her home with her family and Lucy by her side. They enjoyed farming and also bought the Bellinger Tavern and in the 50’s the Polley Tavern until they bought the family farm in the town of Ford where they raised their five children. Florian began the Burzynski Insurance Agency and the Gilman Area Credit Union. Rose was an incredible housewife, gardner and mother who was married to Florian for 65 years. After Florian passed in 2009 Lucy became her partner. Rose loved the Red Hats organization and she was an active member of the Saints Peter & Paul Rosary society. She is survived by her children, Lawrence Burzynski of Escondedo, Calif., Elizabeth (Marshall) Harris of LaQuinta, Calif., Barbara (Randy) Ahlers of Eau Clarie, Mary Ann (Arthur) Krull of Utah and John (Jill) Burzynski of Gilman; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 1967-2023 Sharon Bendy loved many things. She loved being an awesome grandma to her grandchildren. She loved sewing and selling her handmade dresses in Haddonfield. She loved scrapbooking and she loved life. She was a longtime Girl Scout troop leader for Atco Troop 613 and helped with Cub Scout Day Camp at Pine Tree for many years. She graduated Edgewood Regional Senior High School in 1985. Sharon was united in marriage to Marvin Bendy of Berlin on Nov. 16, 1985 at Assumption Catholic Church in Atco. She worked in a variety of jobs in addition to pursing her passions of sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
