Kraemer Fills Supervisor Position

David A. Kraemer has been acting supervisor of the Stratford Post Office since the retirement of the former postmaster. Kraemer was employed in the Marshfield office before coming to Stratford, starting there as a clerk in 1952 and in 1966 he became the foreman of mail.

Summer School Field Trip

The summer school pupils of Stratford went on a field trip to Marshfield. The students visited the North Wood County Histoical Museum, the Marshfield Zoo and also toured the Burger Chef restaurant.

Wenzel Attends FHA Convention

Alice Wenzel, a senior this year at Stratford High School, was one of 1,800 delegates selected to attend the Future Homemakers of America annual convention in Washington, D.C. Wenzel is president of the Stratford FHA and vice president of District IV in the state.

Stratford School District’s budget in good shape

The recent budget hearing was called to order by board president Francis Nikolai. Nikolai stated that the board does not anticiate to borrow money for the upcoming school year. Treasurer John Zuelke discussed the proposed 2000-01 budget and said, “In the long and short of it, our school district is doing quite well.”

An ‘Evening in the Park’ at Stratford

The Evening in the Park concert series sponsored by the Stratford Historical Society has been performing throughout the summer on Wednesday nights at Klemme Park. The Stratford Community band under the direction of Elmer Hayes has been performing.
