If you’re looking for excitement this weekend, the K Bar and R Arena is holding the Horns and Hooves Challenge this Saturday July 16. The event will have bull riding, barrel racing, featured entertainers and events for the kids. There will also be opportunities to win money and prizes. Vendors, food, and beverages will be available on site.

The main events of the night will be the bull and horse riding. Top Midwest bull riders will be competing for $3,500 and a trophy buckle. The rider that stays on the longest will earn the prizes.

Cowgirls from the Midwest will compete in barrel racing for $500 and a trophy buckle. The riders will complete a circuit of three barrels arranged in a triangle, each trying to get the fastest time.

The featured entertainers for the event are Rodeo Entertainer and Comedian Dave “Showtime” Meyer, Rodeo Daredevil Shane Jorgenson, and Country Musician Jackson Taylor.

Dave “Showtime” Meyer is a Rodeo Entertainer and Comedian from Pennsylvania. Meyer was interested in bull riding from a young age and rode his first bull at 18. He eventually retired from bull riding in 2013 and began his career as a rodeo clown. Meyer does shows all around the country and has only grown in popularity due to his skills as an entertainer. He is very active on social media and has over 1 million followers. Some of his popular videos include his fictional character Jacob, a wacky but very entertaining Amish man.

Shane Jorgenson is a Dirt Bike Stuntman, Rodeo Barrelman, and Daredevil from Cameron. Jorgenson has been riding dirt bikes since he was a child and was a born entertainer and daredevil. He also runs a rodeo entertainment company called Western Extreme Rodeo Entertainers.

Jackson Taylor is a Singer/Songwriter from Medford. Taylor sings covers of 90’s country songs and writes original music. He currently has an ongoing music tour that runs from July to October.

The gates open at 5 p.m. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs as there is limited bleacher seating.
