County nutrition site menus announced for February

The menu for the month of February has been announced for the Senior Dining Centers of the Taylor County Commission on Aging. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are welcome to participate in the noon meals.

In Jump River, meals are served at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jump River Community Center. In Medford, meals are served at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays at the Medford Senior Dining Center. In Gilman, meals are served at noon Monday through Thursday at the Gilman Senior Center. Meals are served in Goodrich at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Royal Gaits Arena & Stables. In Stetsonville, meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the Centennial Community Center. Meals are served in Rib Lake at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Rib Lake Senior Center. In Westboro, meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the VFW Hall. Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2:00 p.m. Any questions, please call Commission on Aging at 715-748-1491.

Week of February 1—Tuesday, pulled pork on a bun, scalloped potatoes, creamy coleslaw, honey bee fruit salad; Wednesday, sliced turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with lettuce & tomato, cream of Broccoli soup, peach slices, cookie; Thursday, Beef stroganoff, mashed potato, broccoli & cauliflower, biscuit, fresh grapes; Friday, Spanish rice chicken casserole, 3-bean salad, wheat dinner roll, sliced pears.

Week of February 7—Monday, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, country trio veggie, whole wheat bread, and applesauce; Tuesday, Turkey a la King, WI blend vegetables, biscuit, mandarin oranges, peach upside down cake; Wednesday, Hamburger on a bun, steamed onions, baked beans, peas, potato salad, kickoff cake; Thursday, lasagna, carrots, mixed greens, dressing, garlic breadstick, fruit jell-o dessert; Friday, ham & scalloped potato casserole, broccoli, pineapple, multigrain bread, chocolate pudding.

Week of February 14—Monday, cheese stuffed-shells with marinara sauce, carrots, 12 grain bread, diced pears, apple cake; Tuesday, chili with macaroni, cheddar cheese, mixed greens with dressing, apple slices; Wednesday, oven baked rosemary chicken, baked sweet potato, caulifl ower, cornbread, grapes; Thursday, BBQ pork, whole wheat hoagie, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, diced peaches, cookie; Friday, chicken rice casserole, garlic green beans, cold pickled beets, wheat bread, fudgy black bean brownies.

Week of February 21—Monday, sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, whole wheat roll, pears; Tuesday, beef vegetable stew, biscuit, whole kernel corn, lettuce/spinach salad, dressing, cookie; Wednesday, cabbage rolls with tomato sauce, country trio veggie, wheat bread, pineapple, spice cake; Thursday, Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, baked beans, bread, ambrosia fruit salad; Friday, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, wheat dinner roll, mandarin oranges, bananas & vanilla pudding.

Week of February 28—Monday, Shepherd’s pie, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, biscuit, gingerbread cake.
