Milestones

the people we will be as adults. As Nelson Mandela once said, “Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead.”

Tonight we celebrate the class of 2021 as we embark on our journey into adulthood. We will make mistakes and run into problems in life that will teach us things school never could. Tonight as we say goodbye to RLHS for the last time, we will begin to look for that next milestone to appear in front of us. Our paths have not yet been determined, we shall see where our accomplishments take us and what it shapes us into. Today is a milestone, it tells you how far you’ve come. Keep learning, keep trying, keep accomplishing, and keep venturing on through your journey. Thank you teachers, classmates, and peers for everything these last four years.

Well, to the class of 2021, we made it. The day that we have been waiting for is finally here. What is a milestone? By definition a milestone is an action or event marking a significant change or stage of development.

Milestones for all of us are all different.

Over our last four years we have accomplished a lot, we’ve all reached milestones in our lives that we had always dreamed of.

Whether it was getting that starting spot on the varsity team, earning an all-conference award, earning a chance to get to state solo and ensemble, getting that engine running again, or even just making it to school on time.

All of these little milestones in our lives so far seemed like such big accomplishments to all of us. Now we have really accomplished

After this, those “big milestones” for us won’t seem so big anymore, they will just be part of our high school memories. The big thing that will stick with us is this night, the night that we stand here for the last time before we enter the real world.

This milestone will stick with us for the rest of our lives. For some the next major milestone may be getting that dream job, for others it may be getting that college degree, and for some it may be figuring out what we want to do with our lives. We will all find new milestones to reach in our lives. Some big and some small, there will always be something to reach for.
