COVID-19 numbers continue to climb in Taylor County

The number of COVID-19 cases in Taylor County took another significant jump this week climbing to 786 cases as of Wednesday. This includes 19 new cases reported that day. Among the positive cases, 11 county residents remain hospitalized due to COVID-19 and the county medical examiner has reported 14 COVID-19 related deaths.

In addition to the confirmed cases another 442 residents remain in isolation/quarantine due to showing symptoms or a close contact monitored by the health department.

Health department officials have also identified the following area businesses as having exposure risk: Taylored Nutrition — The Taylor County Health Department has received notification of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at Taylored Nutrition, November 2-3, health officials are encouraging anyone who was at this place of business to monitor for symptoms through November 17.

Subway in Medford — The Taylor County Health Department has received notification of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at Subway, November 2-6, health officials are encouraging anyone who was at this place of business to monitor for symptoms through November 20.

Cravings — The Taylor County Health Department has received notification of an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at Cravings on November 3 or 4, health officials are encouraging anyone who was at this place of business to monitor for symptoms through November 18.

Country Inn — The Taylor County Health Department has received notification of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at the Country Inn on November 1, health officials are encouraging anyone who was at this place of business to monitor for symptoms through November 15.

Cindy’s Bar and Grill — The Taylor County Health Department has received notification of several people who tested positive for COVID-19. If you were at Cindy’s Bar and Grill on October 31, health officials are encouraging anyone who was at this place of business to monitor for symptoms through November 15.

Common COVID-19 symptoms include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and other symptoms that can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services COVID-19 information page. If symptoms do develop, contact your health care provider for further information. Health officials remind everyone to social distance, wear a facial covering when in public or a confined space, wash your hands, avoid large gatherings, and stay home if you feel sick.
