County nutrition program announces November menus

The Taylor County Nutrition Program for the elderly has announced the November menus for the various sites. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are invited to participate in the meal.

Gilman

Meals are served Monday through Thursday [Friday, Meals on Wheels (MOWS) delivered Thursday] at noon at the Senior Citizens Center. Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2 p.m. For reservations and/or transportation to the site, call the center at 715-4478234.

Week of November 4 — Monday, lasagna casserole, garlic bread, lettuce salad, applesauce, cookie; Tuesday, breaded pork chops, coleslaw, dinner roll, pear, cake; Wednesday, chili, cornbread, cheese slices, banana, bar; Thursday, chicken noodle soup, cold sandwich, peaches, cake; Friday, pot roast with potatoes and carrots, dinner roll, pineapple, bar.

Week of November 11 — Monday, German meatballs with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, peach, cookie; Tuesday, smothered pork, rice, cauliflower, applesauce, bar; Wednesday, hickory smoked cheeseburger, lettuce salad, Sun Chips, pears, cake; Thursday, Polish sausage and sauerkraut hotdish, mashed potatoes, carrots, banana, bar; Friday, Grandma’s pea soup with dumplings, cold sandwich, orange, cake.

Week of November 18 — Monday, Salisbury steak, scored potatoes, asparagus, pear, cookie; Tuesday, pork, cabbage and carrots, rice, peaches, cake; Wednesday, chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, company broccoli, banana, bar; Thursday, cold sandwich, cheddar potato chowder, lettuce salad, applesauce, cake; Friday, spaghetti casserole, garlic bread, coleslaw, tropical fruit, bar.

Week of November 25 — Monday, meatloaf, buttered potatoes, lettuce salad, apricot, cookie; Tuesday, stuffed chicken, rice, mixed vegetables, pear, bar; Wednesday, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, peaches, apple pie; Thursday, site closed; Friday, delivered Wednesday, Texas chili, cornbread, cheese slices, pineapple, cake.

Goodrich

Meals are served every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Royal Gaits Arena and Stables, N3649 Spring Dr., Athens. Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2 p.m. by calling Marge Kropp at 715748-3209.

Meals are served Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon at the Jump River Community Center. Medford

Meals are served Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at noon at the Senior Citizens Center. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance by 2 p.m. Persons living within a twomile radius of the city of Medford may arrange for transportation. For reservations and/or transportation to the site, call 715-748-2157 or make your reservations at the site one day in advance.
