Shannon Seyforth, owner of Mad Shannon’s Phit Shed, now has a location to call her own. After four years sharing space with another business in Cadott, Seyforth says it was time for her to stand on her own and make her dream of doing what she loves every day, a reality.

Mad Shannon’s Phit Shed moved to the County Hwy. X location, west of Cadott, July 1.

Seyforth has been in the health and fitness industry for 22 years.

“And it all started with floor and step aerobics,” said Seyforth.

She fell in love with that and then got into personal training. After working in various clubs as a part-time gig, Seyforth decided to take the leap and make it happen.

Her original thought was to offer pop-up classes in small towns, like her hometown of Stanley, since there are not as many offerings, as there are in larger cities. Seyforth says that was a lot of driving, but it did help build her clientele.

She rented a space in Chippewa Falls, for a while, before operating out of Serenity Fitness in Cadott, for four years. As her business continued to grow, Seyforth says she decided to stand on her own, as she has more she wants to offer. “And then, this opportunity came along and here we are,” said Seyforth. “We’re an actual shed.” She says she asked a lot of the builder, in hopes that they would get it. The building has a heated floor, big doors for light and a loft area, which will eventually serve as Seyforth’s office, and a hangout place.

Seyforth says there is also a restroom and shower available for clients to use, if they are on their way to somewhere else after their workout.

“We’ve still got a little work to do,” said Seyforth, of getting everything set up.

Her husband is also helping make the space her own. Mad Shannon’s offers group classes like MadFIT, which is their version of CrossFit, weightlifting and yoga. SHED classes, which Seyforth says is what built her business, are also offered. She says it is similar to boot camp, with attendees moving through stations for a full-body workout.

“Hopefully, next summer, we can do more outdoor things here,” said Seyforth.

Small group classes are also offered, with no more than seven people per class.

“It’s a great way to kind of start and it’s just a full-body workout,” said Seyforth.

Seyforth also does a lot of one-on-one, personal training with clients.

“I always tell people, the hardest part, is walking through that front door,” said Seyforth. “The rest is super easy.”

She says the community at the shed is supportive and positive, since they all care about each other.

“We’re family,” said Seyforth. The best way to contact Mad Shannon’s Phit Shed, is by phone, at 715-894-0222, or email, at sdseyforth@gmail.com.
