Carol Block

Carol Ann Block, age 81, of Abbotsford, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at her home under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. The Rev. Teri A. Hanson will preside. Interment will follow at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery South. Family and friends are welcome to greet the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Carol was born on July 1, 1944, the daughter of Orlando and Margaret (Clark) Bangle in Owen. She graduated from Gilman High School. On June 18, 1966, Carol was united in marriage to Leonard 'Lenny' Block in Milwaukee. Together they raised three children in the Abbotsford area.

Carol was a homemaker and devoted herself to caring for her family. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles, lilacs and peonies. More than anything else, she loved and cherished her family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Lenny, of almost 60 years; three children: Mike (Cindy) Block of Owen, Karen (Tim) Wiesner of Black River Falls and Linda (Mike) Derkez of Sturgeon Bay, along with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers and two sisters: Sandy (Keith) Stuttgen, Kathy (Ted) Tollefson, Jerry (Pauline) Bangle and William (Nora) Bangle; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Bangle.
