Lorraine Fischer

Lorraine C. Fischer, age 79, of Colby, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026 at First United Church of Christ in Colby. Inurnment followed at Colby Memorial Cemetery in Colby. The Rev. Teri Hanson presided. Family and friends were welcomed from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is entrusted with arrangements.

Lorraine was born on August 16, 1946, the daughter of Perry and Fern (Winslow) Schulz in Colby. She graduated from Colby High School. On April 19,1969, Lorraine was united in marriage to Daniel Fischer at First United Church of Christ in Colby. Together they farmed in the Town of Hull. She also worked at Welcome Dairy.

Lorraine was a faithful member of First United Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years and made pies for various church events. Lorraine also volunteered at Colby Elementary for five years. She was a hard worker throughout her life, including milking cows and baling hay. She enjoyed walking, Sunday drives, gardening, picking berries, cooking and canning. Lorraine sewed beautiful quilts and made rugs by hand. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel; five children: Ken (Debra) Fischer of Dorchester, Carol (David) Awe of Chippewa Falls, Tom Fischer of Marshfield, Renee (Tyler) Liedberg of Unity and Susan (Jon) Weiland of Stratford; 10 grandchildren: Brooke Fischer, Lynn Fischer, Ben Awe, William Awe, Mason Liedberg, Casey Liedberg, Kalea Liedberg, Alex Weiland, Jacob Weiland and Charlie Weiland and one greatgrandson, Carson Konkol. She is further survived by her sister, Arlene Schulz of Colby; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dale, and two brothers: Clifford and Lawrence Schulz.
