Daniel “Krauty” M. Krautkramer, 60, Marathon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, under the care of Aspirus at Home Hospice.

He was born May 20, 1965, in Marathon, son of the late Arnold and Lorraine (Hornung) Krautkramer. Dan’s first marriage was to Kristi Jean Kitsembel on July 14, 1990, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Marathon. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2015. Later, he married Lisa Ann Bartz on June 25, 2022, at Rib River Ballroom in Marathon. She survives.

Dan began his working career with Graebel Van Lines in Wausau and later began driving for Coca-Cola on March 28, 1994, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement on June 14, 2024. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cornhole and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, Wisconsin Badgers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Dan always loved a good party while jamming out to music and spending time with family and friends. Dan’s large personality, infectious laugh and giving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Krautkramer, Marathon; three children: Stephanie (Joshua) Louis, Kronenwetter, Amanda (Austin) Jaeger, Sun Prairie and Randy Krautkramer, Marathon; four grandchildren: Elaina and Caleb Louis and Leon and Milo Jaeger; his mother-in-law, Barbara Kitsembel, Wausau; eight siblings: Arnold (Mary) Krautkramer, Marathon, Sheri (Dan) Lepak, Wausau, John (Marie) Krautkramer, Marathon, Waine (Candy) Krautkramer, Marvin (Beverly) Krautkramer, Edgar, George (Rhonda) Krautkramer, Wausau, Ronald (Sheri) Krautkramer, Athens and Gary Krautkramer, Kronenwetter; his step-children: Joshua (Renee) Merrigan, Jennifer (Blake) Young and Jeremy Merrigan; his stepgrandchildren: Ethan, Autumn, Greyson, Logan and Karsyn; brothers and sistersin- law: Lani (Brad) Stiede, Jeff (Brenda) Kitsembel, Russell (Amy) Kitsembel and Amy (Jason) Westfall; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier presided. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Marathon and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

A special thank you to Dr. Leon, Aspirus at Home Hospice, especially Kari, Shawn and Alicia, Father Joe, Pastor Mark Gass and the Redeemer family and to all his family and friends who took time from their busy schedules to stop in for a visit, call with a hello or sent a text saying I’m thinking of you. He felt truly blessed to have all of you in his life.
