Orville Lieders

Orville Andrew “Sonny” Lieders, 94, passed away on August 29, 2026, surrounded by family at Compassus House of Dove in Marshfield.

Born November 21,1931, to Orville C. and Lillian M. (Fahenbach) Lieders, Orville lived a life defined by family, faith, hard work, service and adventure. He married his beloved wife, Arlene (Friedrich) Lieders, on September 24, 1955. Together they raised six children and built a family spanning five generations.

Orville owned and operated Lieders Trucking & Excavating, Green Acres Terrace Mobile Home Park and a CB radio supply and repair business. He proudly served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1949-1957, was active in the Colby Lions, received the Melvin Jones Award, and served as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, where he was instrumental in the building of the new church and manse.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, Orville C. and Lillian M. Lieders; his sister, Dolores “Beba” Lieders; and other beloved family members and friends who went before him.

Some people live a lifetime. Others build a legacy. Orville did both. He is survived by his devoted wife, Arlene Lieders; his sister, Maurine Schraufnagel; his children: Cindy (Dennis) Koch, Kevin (Mary) Lieders, Brian (Donna) Lieders, Craig (Dawn) Lieders, Brad (Karla) Lieders and Paul (Kathy) Lieders; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather at First Presbyterian Church of Abbotsford, 305 W. Elm Street, Abbotsford, to celebrate Orville’s life. Visitation will be held on Sept. 4,2026, at 9 a.m., with the funeral service following at 11 a.m.

May the Lord welcome Orville home, grant him eternal peace, and comfort all who loved him. Amen.
