Blake M. Borntrager, 23, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Blake was born March 8, 1997, in Cadott, to Amos Borntrager and Rose Borntrager Bluem. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He was outspoken, funny and cared for people deeply. His two small children were his entire world. He was a fantastic, loving and playful father to them.

From a young age, Blake was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Loving anything that would get him dirty, he spent a lot of time riding dirt bikes and ATVs with his friends.

An award-winning archer, Blake won countless awards for his marksmanship while on Cadott High School’s archery team, helping the team qualify for State and National tournaments. He was also a member of the school’s wrestling team, before graduating in 2015.

Outside of school, Blake was a youth leader in the 4-H Club’s Shooting Sports Project. He also participated in the 4-H Horse Project and many others.

After high school, Blake held several jobs, most recently at the Walmart Distribution Center in Menomonie, and as a landscaper at The Natural Touch.

He is survived by his parents – Doug and Rose Bluem; his sisters, Carrie Fetter (Kellene), Jen (Bluem) Searles; his brother – Travis Abbiehl; and his children – Aiden Borntrager, 3, and Nella Borntrager, 1.

He was preceded in death by his father – Amos Borntrager.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at The Natural Touch Landscaping in Elk Mound, Saturday, June 13, from 2-6 p.m.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin in Altoona, is assisting the family with arrangements.
