Leonard Riehle
Leonard Duane Riehle Jr., age 82, of Colby, passed away peacefully on Sunday Aug. 9, 2026, at his residence under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice. Per his wishes, no service will be held. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
The son of Leonard and Elizabeth (Salzman) Riehle, Leonard was born February 22,1944, in Marshfield. On September 9,1963, Leonard was united in marriage to Karen (Waniger) at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Together, they were blessed with four children and worked side by side to build their family farm, making it a place where family and memories were cherished.
From a young age, Leonard took great pride in farming and made it his life’s work. At just 19 years old, he began building his own farm with four cows. Through years of hard work and dedication, he steadily expanded the farm, making it a lasting part of his family’s life and legacy. Above all, Leonard loved and cherished his family, and they remained the greatest joy and blessing in his life.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karen; three children: Renee (Mike) Heindl, Robert Riehle and Ryan Riehle; seven grandchildren: Amanda (Brad) Carey, Michael (Mariah) Heindl, Skylor (Karijo) Riehle, Taylor (Brentin) Bender, Austin Cook, Tripp and Tyler Riehle. He is further survived by 12 great- grandchildren: Alexa, Ainsley, Emmett, Emery, Makena, Brooklyn, Carson, Bayden, Braison, Treyson, Traylyn and Baylyn; three brothers: Donald, Leroy (Doreen) and Clem (Dorothy) Riehle; one sister-in-law, Deb Framke; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky; five siblings: Joe (Grace) Riehle, Loretta Drewek, Merceda (Lea) Smart, Wilfred (Joyce) Riehle, Elizabeth (Les) Kohl and Mary Jane Selinger; two sister-in-law: Marlene (Lyle) Hoffman and Lois Riehle and one brother-in-law, Gary Framke.
