Karen J. Zembruski

1953-2026

Karen J. Zembruski, age 73, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. Karen was born on Feb. 16, 1953, in Cudahy, to Dick and Mary Williams. She attended Cudahy High School and then married John G. Zembruski on May 9, 1970, in Milwaukee. Together, they made their home in Racine, Medford, Wisconsin Rapids, and Waupaca.

Throughout her career, Karen held a variety of positions, primarily in production, and worked as a security officer at Carthage College. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, especially her tomato plants. Karen also had a passion for interior decorating and took great pride in keeping a warm, clean home. She was an exceptional cook and baker who lovingly shared her meals and treats with family and friends.

Karen is survived by her son, Brian Zembruski; grandchildren, Caitlin and Ashley Zembruski; great- grandchildren, Asher Zembruski and SaCora Gryer; sisters, Danielle and Susan (Reed) Jorgenson; brothers, Richard and Steven Williams; dear friend, Jan Ermilio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Joseph Zembruski; and sister, Valerie Schultz.

The family will be having a private gathering. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Wisconsin Veterans Home and ThedaCare Hospice for the compassionate care given to Karen.
