Thorson-Bruner 1951-2026

Linda Thorson-Bruner passed away peacefully at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Milwaukee on Jan. 26, 2026.

She was born on March 22, 1951, in Taylor County, and resided most of her life in Wisconsin following sojourns to California and Hawaii. She loved spending time in nature, walking her dogs, singing along to music, watching history documentaries and having coffee with her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her children, Sarah Mancl, Jocelyn Mancl, Candice Mancl, and Arizona (Tim) Melgard, as well as her favorite daughter, BooBoo, a mini pinscher-chihuahua mix. She is also survived by her siblings, Roxanne Purgett, Jacqueline Suthard, Bryon Thorson, Mark Thorson, Rhonda (Duke) Thorson, Brenda Behroyan, Wayne (Jackie) Thorson, Billy (Lena) Thorson, and Susan Thorson; as well as her bonus mom, Delores Habeck; and bonus sisters, Lynn (Keith) Becken and Jeannie (Mike) Pardo.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Berdene Thorson; her bonus father, Merle Habeck; sisters, Paulette St. Clair and Merry Beth Moran; and husband, James Bruner.

Per her wishes, Linda will be interred next to her husband at Greenwood City Cemetery later this year.
