1968-2025

Rhonda M. Bahr, 57, of Medford passed away on Nov. 29, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, after a 17 year battle with cancer. She was born on May 6, 1968, to Emil and Helen (Bucki) Bahr. She was a 1986 graduate of Medford Senior High School. Following high school, in addition to driving milk truck with her dad, she began working at Krug’s Bus Service as a school bus driver and later became the office assistant and computer guru for the company. She was employed with Krug’s for 38 years and has driven multiple generations of children over the years. Rhonda was blessed with a great memory and usually didn’t need the computer to identify where students lived. She was amazing at remembering family dynamics throughout the generations. She was also a walking encyclopedia, full of knowledge, both useful and useless.

Rhonda and Deb Goerg, her partner of 32 years, were instrumental and very active in many causes and benefits. Their passion was the annual Critter Cruise that raised funds for services and care for many animals through Paws of Hope and the Humane Society. Being a lover of dachshunds, Rhonda usually had one or more on her lap as she rested these past years as the cancer slowed her down a bit.

Rhonda was the person most friends would call when they needed something fixed or figured out. She was talented and, other than her vehicles, she could fix most anything.

Rhonda also loved socializing with her friends at both Old School and the VFW. She may have enjoyed the “games” in those establishments as well. Rhonda was known as the great gift giver. She always put a lot of thought into everything she gave. Her creativity and generosity gave her joy.

Rhonda is survived by her siblings, Lorna Walters, of Athens, Duane/Duce (Lynn) Bahr and Myron Bahr, both of Medford, Sandy (Duane) Zugier, of Abbotsford; partner, Deb Goerg of Medford; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Wally Walters.

A celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Medford at a later date.

Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society in Wausau is assisting Deb and the family.
