1956-2025

James M. Johnson, age 68 of Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Rib Lake Health Services under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. James was born on June 11, 1956 in Tinley Park, Ill. to Clarence and Eunice (Andrews) Johnson. He grew up in the Tinley Park area. Upon graduating from 8th grade at Kirby Grammar School, he received a medal from the American Legion and the VFW. James was a 1974 graduate of Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Ill.

He served in the United States Navy in the Aviation Division with a clearance for aircraft log books. James also graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Business Administration.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eunice. He is survived by his brothers Paul (Alice) and Karl (Paulette), and several nieces and nephews.

James M. Johnson was a dedicated Christian. He belonged to the Lutheran Church his entire life. He faithfully attended the Friday Worship Service in Rib Lake. Additionally he supported the “Beds from Christ” in Medford. James also donated to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church’s building fund. James was kind and gentle to all staff during his care. A special joy in his life was reading religious gift books forwarded to him by Mrs. Patsy Marvic, a cousin.

A private burial for James M. Johnson is taking place at the Perkinstown Cemetery in the Village of Perkinstown. Reverend Dr. Paul Woods is conducting the Christian Burial. Military Honors will be conducted by the Rib Lake American Legion.
