Curtis Duane Day, 55, of Fennville, Mich., passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home. Born March 20, 1970 in Gilman, he was the son of the late Billy and Priscilla (Emry) Day and was the husband of Michael George Paulen. Curtis grew up on a 450 acre farm in Wisconsin that he loved dearly. More recently, he settled on a five-acre patch of paradise with Michael where he had dedicated an entire acre to his blueberries and was always keeping busy with one project or another.

Curtis loved to hunt, and he had a passion for classic Cadillacs. He was a well-respected chiropractor in the Saugatuck area with his own practice that cared for more than 800 patients. He will be remembered

1970-2025

as the life of the party, the fun uncle, and the playful grandpa and will surely be missed.

In addition to Michael, Curtis is survived by his stepdaughter, Ashley (Bryan) Fries; siblings, Susan (David) Bouchard, Jerry (Dawn) Day, Tom (Marilyn) Day and Scott (Teresa) Day; grandchildren, Jack and Lucy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Edward Day.

The family received friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A celebration of Curtis’ life began at the funeral home at 3 p.m. where friends and loved ones were welcomed to share memories.

A visitation was held at the Gilman Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 9-11 a.m., burial followed in the Hannibal Cemetery.
