James P. Emmerich
1945-2024
James P. Emmerich, age 79 of Grand Chute, passed after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s. He was born March 14, 1945, in Taylor County. Son of Joe Jr. and Ann Emmerich. Jim grew up in the Perkinstown area on Richter Lake, where his parents owned the resort. Jim joined the US Army upon graduation from high school. Was stationed in Germany, was awarded expert rifleman honors and honorably discharged in 1967. Jim met and married Barbara Breitbach on Sept. 29, 1969. They had two children, Kristin (Mark) Manteufel & Kurt Emmerich.
Jim was a small business owner for many years in the Fox Valley area providing special paper converting services. He was a sports fan who enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers.
He is survived by his children and one granddaughter, Emily Manteufel. Precedent in death by his wife, Barbara and parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy, with military honors. Internment will be held at the same time, with his wife, Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, we will make donations to the WI Parkinson’s Assoc. & the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
