Marion L. Marcott

1928-2026

Elk River, Minn. – Marion Lorraine (Grahl) Marcott, born Feb. 7, 1928, passed away on Oct. 10, 2026, at age 98. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Allen, and her parents, Alfred and Olga (Harder) Grahl. Survived by her children, Curtis Marcott (Susan), Jacqueline Rognli (Roger), Craig Marcott (Ruth) and Michelle Marcott (Jerry Ahlquist); grandchildren, Peter Rognli (Judith), Matthew Ahlquist, Steven Marcott (Lisa), Andrea Rye (Esten), Pamela Marcott (Ryan Barrett), Cameron Lis Marcott (Meredith), Luke Marcott (Sophie Bloomfield), and Jacob Marcott; and six great-grandchildren.

Marion’s family also thanks her loving caregivers at Guardian Angels and Triniti Home Health & Hospice.

Born and raised in Medford, Marion was admitted into the Cadet Nursing Corp in 1945. She completed her three years of training at the Eitel Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She went on to pursue a lengthy nursing career specializing in OB, labor and delivery, and postpartum care at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis as well as at HCA Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Ga. A lifelong caregiver, Marion volunteered at North Memorial Hospice after her retirement, and most importantly, she provided loving, long-term care to her parents and her beloved Allen.

Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. at Union Congregational Church, 1118 4th Street, Elk River. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Private inurnment. Memorials to Union Congregational Church and the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org). Arrangements by Dare’s Funeral Home, 763-441-1212.
