Christina Maria (Bucki) Piller Christina Maria (Bucki) Piller

Christina Maria (Bucki) Piller, age 92, of Medford, was born to eternal life on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 at Medford Aspirus Care & Rehab with her daughter by her side.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home in Medford with Fr. Julian Druffner officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen II Cemetery, Medford.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 24, 1931, to Carl & Mary (Ramskuglar) Poehnelt, being the youngest of 11 children. She attended Pleasant Hites School in Medford. She married Emil Bucki on Nov. 17, 1948.

They resided in Medford and farmed for approximately 17 years, raising 9 children. They later divorced. Christina was then employed with Memorial Hospital of Taylor County for 27 years; working five years as a nurse’s aide and 22 years as a physical therapy aide. She retired in 1993.

Christina enjoyed retirement and the simple pleasures in life. Her greatest pleasure was family gatherings and visits. Whether large or small, she enjoyed them all. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, as did her friends, neighbors, and many nieces and nephews. Her health was always exceptionally well for a woman of her age until the past year and she felt very grateful for that, telling many people, “I had a good 90 years!” She was a hard worker and a very independent woman. She continued to do all of her

own housework and yardwork herself. She was a daily walker who always took the time to smile, say hello, and chat with her neighbors and friends.

She was a good person with a kind heart. She was very strong willed and outspoken – where need be. She could also be quite witty “dishing it out” and “taking it in” as good as the other guy. She endured numerous hardships throughout her journey of life, but her perseverance and strong faith always carried her through. She shared love, kindness, hugs, smiles, conversations and jokes with family, friends and neighbors. She will be deeply missed by many and will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Through eternal life, her spirit has now been lifted and her love is shining down upon all of us. We love you Mom/Grandma and will miss you dearly.

Christina is survived by her children, Ron (Laura) Bucki, Jan (Duane) Rademacher, Dianne Bucki, and Mark Bucki all of Wisconsin, Marlene (Michael) Jordan of South Carolina, Julie Lemke of Minnesota, Daryl Bucki of South Dakota. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three greatgreat- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David and Dennis Bucki; two daughters-in-law, Juta and Anita Bucki; one granddaughter, Tammi Lyn Bucki; and her former husband, Emil Bucki. She was also preceded in death by her 10 siblings, six brothers, Carl, John, Frank, Joe, Leo and Bill Poehnelt; and four sisters, Mary Kuenne, Ann Tom, Theresa Kuenne and Agnes Williams.
