Frederick Redmann Frederick Redmann

Frederick (Fred, Fritz) H. Redmann, 95, Athens, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at his home, under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born on October 5, 1927, in the Town of Wein, Marathon County, son of the late Frederick and Hazel (England) Redmann. On April 15, 1950, he married Germaine Schmitt at St. Mary’s Church in Colby.

Fritz and Germaine farmed in the Town of Bern and then the Town of Johnson, Marathon County, for 44 years, before retiring to Athens.

Survivors include his wife, Germaine; daughter, Deborah Olson; granddaughter, Corissa (Douglas) Seefeldt; great-grandchildren: Cash Ryan, Brynnley, Briella and Cooper Seefeldt and brother, Robert (Bobby) Redmann.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant children: Rebecca Jean, Jeffrey Michael John and Prudence Rose, and his siblings: Annetta Behrendt, Betty Jahnke, Charles, Ernest, Frank and Hazel Roach.

A funeral memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, at St. Anthony’s Church in Athens. Visitation will begin at 9:30, services at 10:30, committal at the parish cemetery and light luncheon to follow.
