For family and friends in Wisconsin: Alan L. Zuelke (58 years) of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away on December 19, 2022.

Alan was born in Marshfield to James and Patricia (Drexler) Zuelke. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School. He was a 1982 graduate of Stratford High School. He was a 1986 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Alan married Deb Hughes in 1992. The couple renewed their vows on their 30th anniversary this last year.

Alan worked at GE Capital, Bank One, JP Morgan Chase, National City, and PNC. However, his favorite job was retirement.

Alan was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Sunbury, Ohio, and the Knights of Columbus.

He volunteered at Delaware County Chapter OH Horseman’s Council by cutting downed trees to clear the trails. He was an assistant Cubmaster and Cub Scout den leader.

He enjoyed gardening, canning salsa, kayaking, working at the land, riding his 1981 Honda Goldwing, and hiking part of the Appalachian trail. In his even younger years, he ran several marathons. He qualified for and ran Boston (twice) and New York (once). His favorite was the Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Deb (Hughes); his children: Patrick (Elaina) Zuelke, Meghan (Colin) Stapleton and Thomas Zuelke; his mother, Pat Zuelke; siblings: Jim (Kelly) Zuelke, Steve (Lois) Zuelke, Todd (Debbie) Zuelke, Kris Zuelke, Mike (Rae) Zuelke, Kathy (Werner) Eggert and Gary Zuelke, and special godchild, Nicole Cusick.

He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew; his father, James Zuelke; great-nephew, Noah Zuelke, and grandparents: Anton and Sylvia Drexler and Herb and Elsie Zuelke.

A memorial mass with a committal following will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation from 9 – 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
