Carol Ann Arndt, 96, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 at Aspirus Care and Rehab while under the care of Hope Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8 at First Baptist Church in Medford with the Pastors Tim Becker and Kim Swenson officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen II Cemetery following the lunch.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.

Carol was born June 11, 1926 to Albert and Ann (Weber) Handel. She grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High School.

She went on to Beauty Culture school in Milwaukee and worked as a beautician until her marriage.

On May 31, 1947 Carol married Gerald “Jerry” Arndt at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Medford. They resided in the town of Medford, where they farmed and where they raised their children. Once the children were in school, Carol and Jerry purchased a paint store in Medford, naming it Arndt Color Center which they owned and operated for 30 years.

Carol enjoyed crafts, decorating, going on mission trips, entertaining friends and church activities.

She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and did so for over 50 years! She truly enjoyed working with children of all ages.

She is survived by her three children, Dr. Perry (Karen) Arndt of Medford, Mark (Sally) Arndt of Anoka, Minn., Kris (Dr. Brad) Wildberg of Medford; sisters, Patti Ecklund of Medford, Joyce Drost of Stetsonville; eight grandchildren, Kori Hoffman of Charlotte, N.C., Ericka (Karl) Koch of St. Paul, Minn., Brent (Jenn) Arndt of Medford, Jason (Michelle) Arndt of Hudson, Benjamin (Tricia) of Anoka, Sarah (Michael) Cullen of Ft. Myers, Fla., Annie (Matt) Mickelson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Erin Wildberg of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in infancy; and her husband, Jerry on June 25, 2010.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to the staffs of Country Gardens, Aspirus Nursing & Rehab, and to Hope Hospice for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Carol over the past few years, weeks and in her final days.
