Edmund “Ed” Krebsbach, 58, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2022, at home.

Ed was born on October 12, 1963, in Marshfield to the late Edmund and Marie Krebsbach. He attended and graduated from Edgar High School, where he wrestled, played football and earned the nickname “Grizz.” While working at the 13th EVAC hospital in Marshfield as an LPN training medics, he met the love of his life, Donna Schafer. On May 1, 1999, Ed married Donna and together they had two beautiful children, Joshua and Hannah.

Ed was in the Army for 30 years where he also earned his associate degree in nursing. He held the MOS’ of ammunition specialist, recruiter and career counselor. He served in two overseas tours, Desert Storm and Afghanistan. He was retired Army and a member of American Legion Post 393 in Edgar for many years. After retiring, Ed was a stay at home dad. He chauffeured the kids to school, appointments and activities. Ed was known for his quick wit and love of family. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his family on their many trips to Florida. He played on softball leagues where he deemed the nickname “Grumpy.” Ed had a love for all sports and always supported the Green Bay Packers but watched all teams. As his kids aged, he enjoyed being a spirited spectator, whether those around him liked it or not, for Josh, Hannah and other team members.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Donna; children: Joshua and Hannah; brothers: Charles (Deb) Krebsbach and Mike (Cindy) Krebsbach; sisters: Cathy Anderson and Cindy (Dale) Lapacz, and many more nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Terri Krebsbach and Tom Krebsbach, and sister, Margie Strasser.

A visitation was held Wednesday, July 13, at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Howard, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continued Thursday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, Green Bay, with the service following. Burial and military honors took place at 2 p.m. at Suamico Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
