Jerald Clint

Jerald Herman Clint (89), formerly of Stratford and Mission, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Alfredo Gonzales VA Home in McAllen, Texas.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1954. Jerry was born in Rockford, Ill., on January 2, 1933, to Herman and Ruth (Pearson) Clint. He married Doris Carlson on October 19, 1957, in Rockford, Ill.

He was a lifelong farmer in Illinois and Wisconsin and also worked at the Marshfield Clinic as an outreach driver. He loved camping and being a lifelong member of the Good Sam Club and traveled the U.S. with Doris making many friends along the way. He also loved his garden and riding his gator.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, and children: Debora (Tom) Garrett of O’Steen, Fla., Brenda (Tom) VanDerLeest and Terrance Clint of Stratford. He is also survived by grandchildren: Richard Probeck, Florida; Amanda (Dereck Rueter) VanDerLeest and Zachary (Whitney) VanDerLeest and six great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by two brothers: Fred Clint of Janesville and John (Carol) Clint of Clinton, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: James and Ronald, sisters-in-law: Joyce and Sandra, and a nephew.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Tom and Brenda VanDerLeest on July 3, 2022, at their home. A memorial service was previously held in Mission, Texas.
