Edward John Haynes Edward John Haynes

1947-2021

Edward John Haynes, 74, was taken from our lives too soon as a result of COVID-19 complications on Nov. 11, 2021. Edward loved to talk to everyone about his creator and the future hope found at Revelation 21:3,4 and Acts 24:15. He looks forward to a time when all things will be made new and rests until that future promise. A scriptural memorial service will be held via Zoom on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. CST and will be officiated by Clint Boettcher of the North Wausau Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Born on Feb. 13, 1947 in Chicago, Ill., the middle child of five and only son to Curlee and Rose (Cavaleri) Haynes. Edward married his beloved wife, Linda Fay (Kolnik) Haynes on Dec. 27, 1969 in Chicago, Ill. Linda’s love, compassion, competitiveness and intuitiveness made them an indispensable pair. Edward and Linda called the beautiful and peaceful North Woods of Phillips, Wis. home for more than 45 years. In Phillips, Edward was self-employed and recently retired from his personal HVAC business. While humble, he was known by many as a modern-day Renaissance Man; a designer, inventor, often creating efficient ways to accomplish the impossible. Edward was lively, loving and generous. His energy was unmatched whether it was to finish a job, tell a story, take a family trip or play a simple game of dominos. Edward brought warmth wherever he went and made a lasting impression in such a way that individuals wanted to be a part of his antics. The greatest part of life is spending it on something that will outlast it, and Edward (Dad, Grandpa) embodied that by devoting himself to his family and his relationships.

Edward is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Fay (Kolnik) Haynes; seven children, Tifney Haynes, Jesse (Keira Lynda) Haynes, Kelly Haynes, Valarie (Jon) Teppo, Kristopher Austin Haynes, ‘A Havahla (Austin) Haynes-Brobst, Lauren (Spencer) Haynes-Moore; five grandchildren, Corey Tyler Henninger, Tyler Elizabeth Brower, Riley Nikkol Brower, Sophia Rose Teppo, Myles Oliver Brobst; and four sisters, Shirley (Sal) Infantino, Patricia McDonald, Fran Silva and Rosemary (Gilbert) Haynes-Aragon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Curlee and Rose (Cavaleri) Haynes.
