Betty A. Clarke

1933-2021

Betty A. Clarke, of Perkinstown, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services for Betty were held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford with Pastor David Clements officiating. Visitation took place at Hemer Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Betty was born on Nov. 14, 1933 to Albert and Iola (Westrich) Meyer in Perkinstown. She was a graduate of Medford High School. She married Lowell Clarke on Aug. 22, 1953; he survives. While Lowell was stationed in El Paso, Texas, Betty became a CNA and worked at hospitals and nursing homes throughout her life. She was also a cook at Our House for many years and an Avon Lady. Most of all she will always be remembered as a wonderful homemaker.

Betty was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, an active member of the Perkinstown Community Church, the Red Hat Society, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, sewing, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was famous for her homemade pancakes and deviled eggs.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Susan (Dwight Stevens) Dassow of Medford, Cynthia (Kevin) Krejci of Wausau, and Aimee (Lawrence) Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Nikki (Paul), Wade (Patsy Gumz), Kelly, Keisha (Andy), Kolden, Kimara, Sebastien, and Rua; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Trinity, Grace, Aiden, Chloe, Jordyn, Addison, Brooklyn, Harper, Christian, and Beau; siblings, Harvey, Jerry (Nancy), and Patty (Clement) Johnson. Betty is further survived by many other family and friends.
