Accident reports

The following car vs. deer accidents were reported: Jennifer Lynn Zimmermann, 44, of Scandinavia, on November 1, at 10:50 p.m., on Hwy 73, in the town of Jump River; Susan Kay Thiede, 65, of Medford, on November 2, at 7:18 a.m., on Castle Rd., in the town of Medford; Emily Ruth Stogbauer, 33, of Rib Lake, on November 2, at 5:39 p.m., on CTH C, in the town of Browning; Samantha Ann Messmann, 23, of Phillips, on October 29, at 4:31 a.m., on Hwy 13, in the town of Medford; Douglas W. Smith, 57, of Cadott, on November 1, at 8:10 p.m., on Hwy 73, in the town of Taft.

Maria Cecilia Beuten, 72, of Medford, backed into a pedestrian in the Walmart parking lot on November 3, at 9:42 a.m., in the city of Medford. Beuten did not recall backing into the man, however surveillance cameras proved otherwise. Beuten was allowed to view the footage which clearly shows her striking the pedestrian. According to the crash report, unsafe backing was a factor in the accident. The pedestrian only sustained minor injuries. No medical attention was needed.

David Vincent Cobb, 52, of Plover, was traveling southbound on Wren Dr., on October 31, at 1:41 p.m., in the town of Holway, when he looked at his iPad to determine his next delivery, in his cargo van, owned by Diversified Installation Service, Inc. When he looked at his iPad, the vehicle drifted slightly to the western shoulder, when the front passenger side tire hit the shoulder. The vehicle slid into the ditch, coming to rest near the culvert. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Taylor County Law Enforcement

Christopher B. Kulinski, 71, of Withee, was traveling westbound on Broadway Ave., on November 4, at 6:40 p.m. Andrea Sue Mehner, 35, of Medford, was stopped on 7th St., ready to make a left turn. Mehner turned left onto Broadway Ave. when she struck Kulinski’s vehicle. Mehner was issued a citation for failing to yield right of way from stop sign. No injuries were reported.
