Two-vehicle accidents

Accident reports

Cassie M. Jochman, 28, Marshfield, and Chelsea L. Johnson, 31, Athens, were involved in an accident on May 21 at 2:51 p.m. at the intersection of CTH A and C in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, the Jochman vehicle was eastbound on CTH A and slowed to make a left turn onto CTH C when it was struck from behind by the Johnson vehicle. A passenger in the Jochman vehicle, Jacob A. Sterzinger, 27, Marshfi eld and two minor children sustained possible injuries and received medical treatment at Aspirus Medford Hospital. A child passenger in the Johnson vehicle sustained suspected minor injury but was not transported for medical treatment. The Jochman vehicle sustained damage to the rear, right side rear, right rear corner, left side rear and left rear corner. The Johnson vehicle sustained minor damage to the front, right front side, right front corner, left side front and left front corner. Operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner and looking away from task by Johnson were listed in the report as factors in the accident. She was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Skyler M. Opelt, 34, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Thomas J. Frigo, 56, Prentice, were involved in an accident on May 25 at 1:30 p.m. in a parking lot at Kwik Trip, 177 S. Eighth St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Opelt vehicle was backing out of a parking space and struck the unoccupied Frigo vehicle, which was parked at a gas pump. The Frigo vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side front fender. There was no reported damage to the Opelt vehicle.

Joan M. Dettmering, 56, Medford, and Megan L. Hendrickson, 23, Medford, were involved in an accident on May 26 at 7:35 a.m. at the intersection of West Cedar Street and South Washington Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Dettmering vehicle was northbound on South Washington Avenue and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with West Cedar Street. The Dettmering vehicle proceeded through the intersection and struck the Hendrickson vehicle which was westbound on West Cedar Street, causing the Hendrickson vehicle to spin 180 degrees and strike the curb before coming to a stop. The Dettmering vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front and right front corner. The Hendrickson vehicle sustained disabling damage to the left side middle, left side rear, left rear corner and undercarriage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Dettmering was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Mark J. Pierce, 69, Stetsonville, and a vehicle owned by Gabe Titera, 23, Medford, were involved in an accident on May 27 at 4:15 p.m. in a parking lot at 805 W. Allman St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Pierce vehicle was backing up into a parking space in order to pull out of the parking lot when it struck the legally-parked and unoccupied Titera vehicle. Both vehicles sustained damage to the rear driver side quarter panel.

Craig D. Block, 51, Medford, and Jennifer R. Zettler, 44, Medford, were involved in an accident on May 28 at 9:35 a.m. in a parking lot at 825 E. Allman St. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Zettler vehicle was driving through the exit lane of the parking lot. The Block vehicle was backing out of a parking space and the trailer hitch struck the Zettler vehicle, damaging the front driver’s side quarter panel.

Taylor County Law Enforcement

Peter G. Kiefer, 78, Medford, was involved in an accident on May 29 at 2:32 p.m. in the parking lot at Medford Plaza in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Kiefer vehicle was northbound traveling through the parking lot when it struck a fire hydrant, causing damage to the right front corner and right side front. There was no damage to the fire hydrant.

The following deer-related accidents were reported: Scott J. Guralski, 54, Marathon City, on May 29 at 8:59 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Goodrich.

Sharon M. Lord, 50, Marshfield, on May 29 at 9:36 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Roosevelt.

Tina M. Gebauer, 44, Medford, on May 31 at 11:25 a.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford.
