Lydia was born on June 22, 1920 to William and Mary (Skabroud) Spreen in Medford. She graduated from Medford High School and she attended Taylor County Teacher College. She married Clifford Meyer on July 9, 1941 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he preceded her in death in December 2007.

Lydia worked at the State Bank of Medford before assisting her husband in a home building business until her retirement.

Lydia’s faith was her foundation. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for the countless meals and baked goods that she made for family and friends. She gave of herself unselfishly to anyone who needed help. Lydia enjoyed her family, singing in the choir, and her volunteer work. She had a special place in her heart for animals and chocolate! Her uncanny sense of humor kept us all entertained. Her strength sustained us all.

Lydia is survived by her children, Bonnie Larson of Jeffersonville, Ind., Gary (Kris) Meyer of Medford, Patrick (Carol) Meyer of Medford, Ann Marie (Leo) Palmero of Corpus Christi, TX, Dr. Marcus Meyer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jayne Kinkade of Charlestown, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
