Wayne E. Wollmer

1939-2020

Wayne E. Wollmer, 81, of Gilman, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Marshfield Medical Center. A private family memorial service will be held at a

later date. Wayne was born on Sept. 26, 1939 in Muskego Township to the late Darrell and Helen (Wuhrman) Wollmer. He married Gladys Miller on April 23, 1960 in Hales Corners.

Wayne and Gladys moved their family from Racine to Gilman in order to take over the Miller family farm. In addition to farming, Wayne worked at ITT Life/The Hartford in Thorp and later Minneapolis, spending time in claims, underwriting and finance. After retirement, Wayne continued to help his son on the family farm.

In addition to his wife, Gladys, Wayne is survived by two sons, Randall (Linda) Wollmer of Altoona and Joel Wollmer of Gilman; two daughters, April Brode of Gleason and Jill (Mark) Chovan of Gilman; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Jillian), Carlos and Alex Wollmer, Codey Hatfield, Austin (Niki) and Derek Schilling, Bryce Chovan, Amy Brode and Jessica (Ryan) Brode-Frank; five greatgrandchildren, Peter, Hattie and Hannah Wollmer and Dallas and Morgan Schilling; and one brother, Darrell Wollmer.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; and a granddaughter, Alicia Wollmer.

Rembs Funeral Home of Marshfield assisted the family.
