Elsie N. Clarkson, 93, a town of Hammel resident, died on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Our House Assisted Living in Medford, where she had resided for the past three weeks, most recently under the care of Hope Hospice. A memorial service took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford with Pastor Rodger Prois officiating. Visitation was held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment of her cremated remains took place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery.

Elsie was born on May 20, 1927 in the town of Molitor, to the late Emil and Norma (Dittman) Nadler. She attended Pine Tree Elementary School in the town of Molitor and was a 1945 graduate of Medford High School. Her marriage took place on Sept. 1, 1945 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford to Roy Byron Clarkson, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2016. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Medford in the housekeeping department for 14 and a half years and later at Marathon Cheese in Medford until her retirement. She enjoyed baking, cooking, daily walking and needle work.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Kent) Staab of Medford; step-grandchildren, Marshal Staab, Travis (Jennifer) Staab and Nicole (Matt) Cassis; and step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Paul Cassis. Also surviving are her in-laws, Ardis and Donald (Evelyn) Clarkson, all of Medford; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings, Alvin Nadler, Mabel Rudolph and Lillian Frahmann; brothers-in-law, Lester and Ervin Clarkson; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Clarkson.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family for a future designation.
