Thelma R. Haertle

1921-2019

Thelma R. Haertle, 98, of Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at Rib Lake Health Services in Rib Lake where she had resided for the past seven years. Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Thelma was born on April 24, 1921 in Fond du Lac to the late Hazel (Frost) and Garrett Rock. She attended Fond Du Lac area elementary schools. On Sept. 5, 1938 she married Carl Leonard Stroschine in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1967. She married Albert Louis Haertle on April 24, 1976 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2014. Thelma worked as a cook at a grade school in Milwaukee and as a nurses aide in Milwaukee prior to moving to Rib Lake in 2002 to be near family. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, her grandchildren and all kinds of dogs. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake.

Thelma is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Richard) Brandner of Ogema; sons, Dale (Ginny) Stroschine of Victor, Mont. and Kevin (Debra) Stroschine of Winchendon, Mass.; seven grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Rock of Florida.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Thelma was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Ludin; son-in-law, John Ludin; and siblings, Verona, Hyacinth, Phyllis and Shirley.
