Timothy Olson
Timothy Michael Olson was born on April 6, 1963, to Donald and Shirley (Molle) Olson. He was raised on the family farm, where he worked hard and was the eldest of four children. Tim had numerous jobs during and after high school, and later took over the family farm, while also working at Grassland Dairy. He left Grassland to solely farm, until selling the farm and returning to Grassland in 2006.
He married Rita Reising and they had four children: Josh (Jenny), Jake (Sara), Morgan (Chris) Colleran, and Kinsey Olson. They later divorced. Tim later married Jackie Olson and they had three children; McKaila (Jake) Briese, Mariah (Jeremy) Lake, and Kaden. They also divorced. He began dating Amy (Becker) Hills, whom he doted on and lovingly picked on for the last 19 years. They married on July 10, 2021, and shared a home on Butternut Lake, where he fun night out with Amy and some of their new friends.
He talked often about his neighborhood friends while growing up, and summers when his cousins would come up and “help out” on the farm, as well as being the oldest, picking on his younger siblings, Shelly, Todd, and Jodi.
He enjoyed watching football and baseball, and really enjoyed engaging with a spirited fan, friend or stranger, while watching a game. He had many friends, making them easily with his huge smile and laugh, but his closest was Ed Stumpner, with whom he did yearly ice fishing trips along with their sons, and Tim's grandson, Tucker.
"Work hard, play hard," was Tim and Amy's motto, and they did so with every week starting with "What's the plan/vision for the weekend?" and always following
through with some mini adventures, whether a side-by-side ride, or being a “tourist” in their own “up north” neighborhood, or simply being on the water all day or playing lawn games.
He and Amy were also the hosts for Fourth of July with “The Crew” of Heather, Dicky, Jodi, and Jon, with Tim being the “Captain” and boss of the Jello shots, doing whatever he needed to do to make sure we won the boat parade.
Tim was a member of the Loyal Lions since 2007, doing hours of volunteer work Tim wrote the following, “Love you all. Live life to the fullest, and take time to
and holding several offices. appreciate what you have and what you've accomplished. Stay close to family." He also wrote, "There are five important keys to a relationship or marriage that stand out to me. Friendship, love, commitment, patience/forgiveness, honesty." Words in
which he followed.
He was so “Super” proud of his children and grandchildren: Tucker (Dory), Evelyn, and Scarlett, Abigail, Mason, Henry, Amelia, and Paisley. He adored his greatgranddaughter, Aurora, and new great-grandson, Hunter, and was looking forward to meeting his two new granddaughters, for whom he was helping crochet blankets for.
He loved the weekly time he spent with his parents, Donnie and Shirley, and frequent visits with his in-laws, Al and Carol Becker, as well as the “Old Folks” weekends that were spent with all of them up north.
Tim is survived by his parents; wife, Amy; children; grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; his sisters: Michele (Allen) Taylor, and Jodi (Jon) Lindner; his brothersin- law: Adam (Tina) Becker, and John (Olivia) Becker; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Ermina Olson; his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Eleanor Molle; his brother, Todd, in 2004; and many cousins.
There will be a visitation for Tim on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at the Loyal American Legion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a brief service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, with a celebration to honor Tim following at the Legion.
