Jacqueline Suthard
1949-2026
Jacqueline “Jackie” (Thorson) Suthard, age 77, passed away on July 1, 2026, with her family by her side. The Maurina- Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.
Jackie, as she liked to be called, was born on Feb. 18, 1949, the second daughter of the late Donald and Berdene (Bierce) Thorson, in Marshfield.
Jackie graduated from Medford High School in 1967 and then resided in the Old Irving Park Neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago. She lived there for 40 years and worked as a sales manager at Sears Roebuck for 25 years. In 1968, Jackie married Robert Suthard and they enjoyed 38 years of marriage together until Robert’s passing in 2006. They were blessed with the birth of their only child, Robbie, who helped his Aunt and Uncle take care of Jackie until her final days. Jackie was a spotless housekeeper and a very good cook and baker. Her favorite flower was red roses. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, watching major league baseball and walking her dogs.
Jackie will forever be missed by her son, Robbie; four sisters, Roxanne Purgett, Rhonda Thorson, Brenda Fazollak and Susan Thorson; three brothers, Mark Thorson, Wayne Thorson and William Thorson; nieces; nephew; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; three sisters, Merry Beth Moran, Paula St. Clair and Linda Bruner; one brother, Bryon Thorson.
Per Jackie’s wishes, no services will be held. Interment will be at a later date at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois, next to her late husband, Robert. A Celebration of Life will follow.
Jackie’s family wishes to thank Amy and the rest of the staff of Hope Hospice in Medford, for the loving care they provided Jackie as well as her family during these difficult times.
