Deanna Thompson

Deanna Thompson passed away at her home in Parkview Gardens in Racine on July 10, 2026, just shy of her 84th birthday. The daughter of the late Leo and Lenore (Rahn) Younker, born on July 31, 1942.

Deanna married the love of her life, Daniel Thompson in Stetsonville, on July 8, 1961. Together they raised three children before he passed away in January of 2022.

Deanna owned The Beauty Shack in Franksville, working as a cosmetologist for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and enjoyed watching NASCAR with Danny. Together they traveled to Gulf Shores, Ala. for their annual beachside adventure. She enjoyed collecting beads at the Mardi Gras parade…don’t ask.

Deanna loved to play cards and games with family and her friends at Parkview Gardens. She had a big heart and took many people under her wing to give them love and support. At Parkview Gardens she made special bonds with her care givers; many called her “Grandma” and treated her like family. She could fill a room with laughter and set you back on your heels in the same sentence. She also was an avid gardener.

Deanna was happiest surrounded by family-especially the grandchildren.

Deanna leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the many memories we each hold individually. “Love you Mom!”

Deanna is survived by her children, Kelly (Terry) Schnese, of Anchorage, Alaska, Scott (Vickie) Thompson, Kurt (Rhonda) Thompson, both of Racine; her grandchildren, Sondra (Scott Shumway) McCotter, Tony (Marion Woods) Schnese, Nicholas Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Sr., Zak (Ashley) Thompson, Ty Thompson, Raeann Thompson; her great-grandchildren, Gracelynn and Natalia McCotter, Joshua Jr., James, and Cody Thompson, Emrie, Brielle, and Tanner Schnese, Quinn and Cole Thompson; her siblings, Gerald Younker, Jean Seidel, Kathleen (Clayton) Van Ark, Tom (Jacqueline) Younker, and Marcia (John Polzin) Tomczyk; and brother-in-law, Wayne (Jean) Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Colleen Lundberg; brother, Richard Clayton Younker; and brothers-in-law, Norbert Tomczyk and Dale Seidel.

A memorial visitation will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest privately in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove with her husband, at a later date.
