1928-2025
Delores “Dottie” A. Dietzman passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025 at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff/Minocqua.
A memorial service for Dottie was on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Medford with Pastor Daniel Iwinski officiating. Visitation was at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. The burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery II with a lunch held at the church after the burial.
Dottie was born on Oct. 21, 1928 to Herman and Minnie ( Haenel) Werner in the town of Chelsea. She was the 10th of 11 children. She was baptized on Nov. 18, 1928 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey. She was confirmed on Aug. 23, 1942. Dottie joined Immanuel Lutheran Church of Medford at the age of 17, and has been a lifelong member. She attended Medford area schools. She married the love of her life John Dietzman on Oct. 23, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Dottie worked at Hoffman’s Ben Franklin before her marriage and in later years part time after retiring from farming. With her husband John, they operated a dairy farm and a mink ranch in the town of Medford. Dottie was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Medford and Ladies of Immanuel.
She enjoyed many years of bowling, especially with her sisters, nieces and special friends. Dottie was still playing cards five days before her passing. We are so thankful for the wonderful group of card playing ladies. As a grandparent, Dottie loved every minute she could with her grandchildren. From “watching over them”, attending school events, to watching their athletic games. From 2020-2024 she attended many baseball and football games. Since residing at County Gardens, Dottie enjoyed the many visits from family and friends. The staff at Country Gardens took wonderful care of her, with many becoming very special to her.
She will be dearly missed by her three children, Debi (Jim) Seefeld, of Medford, David Dietzman, of Athens, Steve Dietzman, of Medford; and former daughter-in-law, Tina Dietzman of Holcombe. Five grandchildren, Anthony (Kelly) Zarins, of Dorchester, Donovan (significant other Melissa) Dietzman, of Eau Claire, Hanna (Jake) Wicks, of Medford, Caleb (Fiancée Kendal Laher) Dietzman, of Chippewa Falls, and Max Dietzman, of River Falls. Four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elizabeth and Emmaleigh Dietzman, of Eau Claire, and Rukh Wicks, of Medford. One sister-inlaw, Rosie Werner, of Medford, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Minnie Werner; loving husband, John in 2000; and all 10 of her brothers and sisters, Harold, Ruth Frischman, Leona Krug, Pearl Mildbrand, Milton, Eddie, Lauretta Multerer, Lenora Mayer, Leon and younger brother Bobby in Sept. 2025.
