Lou Ann Weden

May 29, 2025
Our dear sister and aunt, Lou Ann Weden, 75, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the AccentCare Hospice Unit at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Wolfe) Weden. Lou Ann was born in Wausau, spending her early years on the family farm, and then moving with them to Medford when she was nine years old. She finished her education by graduating from Medford High School in 1967. Two years later she moved to Milwaukee with her sister Susan to begin her career at Dun & Bradstreet.
Lou was a devoted Christian and a long-time member at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Creek. There she shared her beautiful alto voice in the choir and in solos, played the handbells and was very active in the women’s group. She also enjoyed concerts of all sorts, enjoying time with family and friends, and a good Bingo game.
Lou Ann is survived by her two sisters, Kristine (Mark) Harrison, Gloria Lush; and her brother-in-law, Jeff Barnes. She is further survived by her niece and nephews, Katy (CJ) Striebinger, Matt (Katie) Harrison, Nick (Sarah) Harrison, Jason (Sarah) Barnes, Sam (Katie) Barnes, Stephen Lush, and great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was sadly preceded in death by her sister, Susan Barnes, ten weeks ago, on March 20, 2025. She was also preceded by her niece, Krista Barnes.
Services for Lou Ann were held Wednesday, June 4, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 6700 Howell Avenue, Oak Creek, WI at 12 p.m. A private burial will be held at Hogarty Cemetery, Aniwa, at a later date. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of De Pere, Wisc., is assisting the family (www.cotterfuneralhome.com).
