Joseph Knetter

Joseph M. “Joe” Knetter, age 43, of Edgar, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Alan Wierzba presiding. Committal services will be held at a later time. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The honor of pallbearers belong to: Jon Schraufnagel, Clint Kroening, Shawn Schnelle and Josh Drexler.

Joe was born on August 13, 1980, in Marshfield to his parents, Allan Knetter and Carol Schoenfuss. He was a graduate of Edgar High School. Joe went on to own and operate his own cattle hauling business. He was later employed at Night Train and BK trucking companies where he was especially skilled at hauling oversized loads and was proud of the fact that he was never late for a delivery.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. Hobbies that Joe enjoyed were getting out to play a round of golf with friends, playing Sheepshead with family and friends, shooting pool with his buddies, being an avid outdoorsman with deer hunting or fishing out at his favorite spots in South Dakota, up in Canada, or out on the Eau Pleine Flowage. Countless people would often comment on Joe’s unforgettable smile that he wore all the time. Joe will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Carol (Myron) Knetter and his father, Allan Knetter, both of Edgar; his godparents: Joyce and John Kaiser of Edgar; his brothers: Chad (Tracy) Schoenfuss of Marathon and Paul (Stacey) Knetter of Dorchester, as well as many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, many aunts, many uncles and some cousins.
