The items will be moved to the Colby High School and tickets will be available on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 during the CHS Alumni Basketball Tournament. The drawing will be at 2 p.m. Sunday and winners will be announced before the championship game.
Prizes include a Colby sports t-shirt quilt, fire ring, kid’s boy basket, kid’s girl basket, women’s basket, grill master basket, signed Paul Molitor bat, rooster metal art, Wisconsin specialty food basket, signed Packers football, and a mixed greens (cash) salad bowl.
Proceeds from the raffle will be used for “Keep Kids Reading” programs at the library.
Friends Meeting
The Friends of the Colby Community Library’s annual meeting will be held Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m. in the RCU Community Room at the library. The Friends financially sponsor many programs the library offers and purchases equipment and library materials through the fundraisers they host. Light refreshments will be served.
There is no better time to join the friends than in March 2024, as membership dues will be waived for both individual ($3) and family ($5) memberships during the month. Lifetime memberships ($50) are available and will receive a free canvas library bag or t-shirt when signing up. If you and your family would like to support the library with time, talent, or treasure, consider joining the Friends.
Memory Program
Join us at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19 when Kari Jensen from Ageis Therapies at the Waterford presents the program “Memory as We Age.” Topics will include forgetfulness, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. Learn practical strategies and lifestyle choices to help maintain and improve memory function while aging. The program is free to the public.
Craft and Hobby
Doors open at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 15 for the monthly Craft and Hobby night at the CCL. Bring individual projects to work on for an evening of adult companionship while participants craft the night away. Snacks and beverages are welcome.
Book Clubs
The afternoon book club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, to discuss “Hunker” by Michael Perry. New members are always welcome.
The evening book club will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. “Lady Tan’s Circle of Women” by Lisa See and “Visiting Tom” by Michael Perry will be discussed.
Story Times
Pre-school aged children and a caregiver are invited to attend story times on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. Ms. Jean includes stories, songs, dances, and finger plays to promote early literacy during the 45-minute session. Join the fun on March 1, 8, 15 and 22. There will be no story time March 29 due to Easter break.
Take and Make Crafts
Stop in for free youth crafts during the month of March. There will be projects celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and Spring crafts.
