A vehicle driven by Benjamin Jensen, 40, Ogema was driving on February 14 at 5:34 a.m. southbound on Hwy 13 north of Anns Way in Medford when he fell asleep at the wheel and struck a divided road sign. He then continued onto Ann’s Way to get to the Walmart Parking Lot. The vehicle sustained no damages. Jensen was given 3 citations for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, display false vehicle registration plate, and operating while suspended.

A vehicle owned by Snap-On Incorporated driven by Christian Hohneke, 23, of Hudson was northbound on Sunset Rd. after turning from Elm Ave. on February 14 at 10:39 a.m. Hohneke stated that the back brake locked up and pulled him left. Hohneke struck a mailbox and then entered the west ditch. The vehicle sustained functional damage to its left rear corner and left side rear and middle.

A vehicle driven by Makayla Herzig, 22, of Gilman was traveling northbound on CTH H near STH 64 on February 14 at 6:50 p.m.. Herzig slowed/stopped at the intersection and continued northbound into the intersection as a horse and buggy being driven by Henry Stutzman Jr., 25, of Gilman with passenger Menno Miller, 22, of Gilman were going westbound through the intersection on Hwy 64. Herzig then struck Stutzman which caused minor damage to Stutzman’s buggy while Herzig’s vehicle sustained functional damage. Herzig was warned for failure to yield the right of way.

Animal related crashes

A vehicle driven by Mary Gerstberger, 47, of Rib Lake was going southbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford at 6:26 a.m. on February 14 when she struck a deer causing functional damage to the right front corner and front of Gerstberger’s vehicle.
