Students, staff and faculty from Rib Lake Elementary came together on Tuesday morning to celebrate the great accomplishment that Rib Lake has achieved yet again. Rib Lake was recognized as one out of 297 schools in the country and one out of 8 schools in the state to receive this prestigious award.
Being recognized as an Exemplary High-Performance School is something that the Rib Lake community takes pride in.
Kira English, 4th grade teacher, Superintendent Travis Grubbs, and Elementary principal Jon Dallmann traveled to Washington D.C. to accept a plaque and banner in recognition for their success.
English was able to give a presentation to the students during the assembly about how their trip went to give them a better understanding of how important this award is.
Tuesday morning Anna Ringstad, Senator Baldwin’s Northwest Wisconsin Regional Representative, State Representative James W. Edming, and District Scheduler for Congressman Tiffany, Maggie Cronin came to represent Wisconsin and recognize this school for its accomplishment.
Along with school board members and Grubbs, former Administrator Rick Cardey returned to say a few words and express his feelings of how proud he is of this school.
Grubbs gave the state representatives a tour of the building and were welcomed into some classrooms to see what they were learning that day.
Cardey said, “I often get asked, What makes Rib Lake School so great? The answer is simple: Good students, who’ve adopted a good mindset who truly like coming to school. You all should be proud for this national recognition.”
